Weekly Recap: With the gates!

It's not fun typing with a splint on my finger! But I'm managing. I did get the stitches out 10 days after they were put in. It bled the first night and swelled up again. I was pretty scared to bend it, I don't want to split it open again and since part of the cut is on a crease in my knuckle, it still looks like it's partially open.

We did our General Conference review for Family Home Evening. I had a new poster printed to write our notes on, and printed it at 16x20 instead of 11x14. It's huge and doesn't fit in the frame. Oops. I promised the kids I'd take them to see Trek the Movie if they got school done early, and they did! The movie was okay... By the end of the week we had two sides and gates done on the fence, now we are working on the back.

We also finally watched Star Wars The Last Jedi. Some people were pretty excited about that. Also, my husband and son had their suits dry cleaned. Then my son wore his for the last time. He outgrew it months ago, but it didn't look excessively small yet. I finally insisted that it is though.

School highlights:

History was a lesson about the Battle of Gettysburg.
Literature was about legends in Hans Brinker, and what a legend is.
Science was a lesson about avoiding harmful substances and the Word of Wisdom.
Geography was about the economy of South America.
Music was a lesson on Fiddler on the Roof and family traditions.

On April 28th IEW will hold a Spring Mini-Conference. There are some great speakers lined up! Register for free and get some great tips for your homeschool.
